Physical description: Bruce has an imposing appearance, and his stature is considered intimidating as well as commanding. His body is packed with muscles, and he has a strong chin and jawline. Personality: Bruce Wayne has two personalities, which are radically different from one another. The first one is his Bruce Wayne personality. As Bruce Wayne, he is rather arrogant and snooty. He does work towards charitable causes and such, but he also indulges in more...pleasurable activities. This is all merely a facade, however. Bruce's alter ego personality is nothing more than a mask that conceals his true identity as the Batman. Bruce has become rather skilled in appearing to be the life of the party as Bruce Wayne...when in reality, he may be the loneliest person on Earth.
Bruce's personality as Batman makes up his real emotional characteristics. As Batman, Bruce is stoic, commanding, and harsh. He is single-minded in his goals, and pays little regard to distractions and such. Batman is also obsessive, to the point of blatantly putting his life in danger to achieve success. Along with the mind of a genius, Batman is extremely paranoid, and often takes extra measures before any action. When giving advice to his wards, Batman is not one to sugercoat his words; he will cut straight to the chase. Overall, Batman is a pragmatic, commanding, and intimidating figure.

History: Bruce Wayne was born to Thomas and Martha Wayne, who were very wealthy and respected. Bruce had a very privileged childhood, and one might even say that he was spoiled. He had a top-of-the-line education, and private schooling. However, everything changed when Bruce and his parents attended a movie in the Monarch Theatre. When exiting through the back alley, the family was confronted by a mugger named Joe Chill. Chill demanded Martha's pearls. When Thomas refused, Chill shot Bruce's parents and left Bruce alone in the alley to mourn his parents' deaths.
Bruce was raised by Alfred, who looked after the boy like he was his own son. Bruce had a close relationship with Alfred, but he never felt the same after his parent's demise. He made an oath to rid Gotham of the criminal element that took his parents' lives, and set out when he was thirteen to achieve mental and physical perfection. He had schooling in the most prestigious private schools, and hones his intellectual skills during this time. Afterwards, he traveled abroad to attend Europe's most esteemed universities, including Oxford University. After obtaining many of the skills he would need in Europe, Bruce traveled to Africa in order to improve his physical prowess. He was taught advanced hunting and tracking techniques by the African Bushmen. After this, he traveled to the Far East for more training.
He trained with the martial arts master Chu Chin Li in China for a time, then was taught by the great combat master Tsunemoto in Japan. Both of these masters professed that Bruce was their most diligent, skilled, and honorable student. After this, Bruce traveled to North Korea to seek tutelage from Kirigi, the sensei who trained the League of Assassins. Bruce was intially hazed by Kirigi's other students, but eventually earned their respect and the right to train with him. He became the most skilled of Kirigi's students, and the master soon invited the unmatched Lady Shiva to test Bruce's skills. After defeating Shiva, Bruce was told that Kirigi had nothing more to teach him.
Bruce returned to Paris, France to seek out the tutelage of Henri Ducard, the expert manhunter. He was trained extensively to improve his endurance and manhunting skills, thereby finishing his training overseas.
At age thirty, Bruce returned to Gotham to use his skills to fight crime. He became the Batman, a vigilante bent on bringing Gotham's criminals to justice. His alter-ego, Bruce Wayne, owned and ran Wayne Enterprises. The first two years of his career as Batman were spent fighting regular thugs and such in Gotham. However, two years into his career, the mob boss known as Black Mask placed a fifty million dollar bounty on the Batman's head. This bounty invited eight of the world's greatest assassins to try and kill Batman on one night, Christmas Eve of all nights.
After further investigation, Batman discovered that an enigmatic villain known as the Joker was behind the bounty and the assassins. Batman subdued the Joker after a long night, and Joker was sent to Blackgate, and later Arkham. Black Mask regained control of the city's underworld, and Batman continued to fight crime. A couple of weeks after Christmas Eve, Batman went to see a show of the Flying Graysons. After Richard Grayson lost his parents to a mob boss named Tony Zucco, Batman took him in and trained him to be Robin. Tony Zucco was brought to justice, and Robin became Batman's sidekick. Batman also took in another ward, Barbara Gordon, soon afterwards. Barbara was James Gordon's daughter, and wanted to fight crime like her father. She became Batgirl, Batman's other sidekick.
Batman continues to protect Gotham from crime and corruption. He notices that Gotham is appealing to a lot of new heroes and villains, and continues to monitor and watch over the city as best as he can.
Roleplay sample: Batman looked out over the city of Gotham. He hadn't gotten two hours of sleep in the past three days. There seemed to be more and more thugs roaming the streets at night these days. They were mostly generic mobsters, with the occasional crew of Joker thugs or Penguin's henchmen. With the rapidly increasing crime rates in Gotham and a large-scale Krolotean invasion on his plate, he was mentally and physically fatigued.
He then spotted the Falcone goons on the street below. He glided down to them, glaring menacingly at them. "Holy crap, it's the Bat!" one of them yelled. The others immediately stepped back instinctively. Then, a thug lunged at him. It was quite pathetic, really. It was in a moment of pure desperation. And desperation led to carelessness. The thug's strike was sloppy and uncoordinated. Batman dodged and slammed his fist into the man's stomach, causing him to go down.
Then, the other thugs surrounded him. He parried and struck with great precision and skill, moving too quickly for the thugs to react. When the final henchman fell, Batman took a few deep breaths. Then, he spotted a gun sticking out of a thug's pocket. ".44 caliber revolver..." he mused. He assessed the scene again, and concluded that there was nothing else to be found. The Caped Crusader disappeared into the shadows of the night.
